Nathan Sbar, Esq.
Associate Attorney
Associate Attorney
Nathan Sbar is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis. The most recent addition to the team, Nathan began working with the firm in November of 2023 as an attorney; however, he spent the summer of 2020 in the office as an intern while earning his law degree. Nathan is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland and is fluent in Spanish, conversant in Russian, and learning Arabic.
Though he only recently decided to practice law, Nathan’s career has taken him all over the place, including a 13-year stint with the United States Navy, which he left in 2018 at the rank of E-6. Nathan earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Economy from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1996 and spent many years working in various industries. His diverse work history reinforced his interest in foreign languages and motivated him to find a field of work where he could help people who feel more comfortable speaking a language other than English. This eventually led him to Baltimore, Maryland and then later American University’s Washington College of Law, from which he graduated with his juris doctorate in 2021. While in law school, Nathan decided to pursue a career specifically in immigration law, inspired by the knowledge that when a person immigrates to the United States, they are giving up everything they have ever known to be here—their homes, their friends, sometimes even their families, and, more than anything, the ability to express themselves in their native languages. To Nathan, these sacrifices make up what it truly means to be an American, and thus he is excited to do his part in making this country better by welcoming and assisting those who chose to come to the United States and are trying against all odds to build their lives here.
In the time that he has been practicing immigration law, Nathan has worked with both Molina Immigration Legal Services and the International Rescue Committee, where he mostly helped clients who are in the processes of pursuing asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. He ultimately decided to return to this firm and looks forward to the work ahead in helping the clients of the Law Office of Timothy W. Davis.
