Maria Jedermann

            Maria Jedermann is a Paralegal at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis.  She has been an essential part of this firm since June of 2019 and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

            Before making her way to the United States, Maria spent much of her life in her native Ecuador.  After arriving, she studied at Fort Lauderdale City College, earning an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies in 2008.  Afterwards, she settled in Maryland, and began working for the Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center in Harford County, Maryland, where she dedicated over seven years to helping victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other horrors.  Her time at SARC inspired her to return to school, and in 2019 she graduated from American Public University with her bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies.  Afterwards, Maria joined this firm, where she has spent the past four and a half years working endlessly to help other immigrants.  In her time at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis, Maria has worked on several types of cases, such as asylum, I-130 petitions, and adjustments of status, but has concentrated the majority of her work on supporting our young clients seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. 

            Maria’s motivation to continue working with and supporting those who have experienced often harrowing traumas is simple: she wishes to do whatever possible to positively impact someone’s life.  A self-described incurable idealist, Maria feels that if she has the opportunities and capabilities to make any kind of positive changes in this world, she would choose to do so a hundred times over, rather than remain with her arms crossed, doing nothing.  And as a paralegal here at this firm, she has the chance to do that every day.
