Susanne Townsend, Esq.
Associate Attorney
Associate Attorney
Susanne Townsend is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis. She joined the firm in October of 2023 after spending over a dozen years with Blaine Gilbert & Associates, another immigration law firm located in Baltimore, Maryland. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland.
The granddaughter of immigrants, Susanne has always been interested in people and their stories. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating in 1999. For the next several years, she chose to work in various industries, leading her to realize a desire to do work that would help people, especially immigrants. She decided to go to law school and returned to Case Western Reserve University, graduating from their School of Law in 2007 with her juris doctorate with a concentration in international law. Although Susanne’s original desire was to work in international law, litigating war crimes and human rights violations, she found that immigration law was, instead, a more tangible and accessible way to directly help the people who were often victims of those crimes. In the time that she has been practicing immigration law, Susanne has garnered a lot of experience in representing individuals and families applying for affirmative benefits with USCIS. She has successfully assisted clients with a wide variety of matters, including: adjustment of status, naturalization, waivers, affirmative asylum, U-visas, Temporary Protected Status, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, The Violence Against Women Act, and consular processing. Susanne also has worked on claims for cancellation of removal, defensive asylum, and the reopening of prior removal orders, as well as writing successful appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. As for her work with this firm, she is excited to expand her expertise to include an emphasis on litigation and representation of clients before the Maryland Circuit Courts and the Immigration Court.
More than anything, Susanne finds assisting others in navigating the complex immigration system in the United States to be a privilege and an honor, and looks forward to continue doing so at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis.
